I am a bilingual (English/Spanish) Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New York with more than 8 years of experience working with individuals and families. I believe in providing care that is personalized and that focuses on an individual's specific needs. I have experience working with clients with a wide range of concerns including but not limited to depression, anxiety, relationship issues, and parenting issues. In addition, I also have experience working with people who have suffered through emotional and physical trauma. I am a warm and understanding person who believes in treating everyone with respect and compassion. My approach is holistic and incorporates a variety of therapy models including cognitive behavioral, psychodynamic and solution focused therapy. I will work with you to better understand the cultural, social, and spiritual factors that impact your life and well being. Everyone goes through difficult times at some point in their lives and it takes a lot of courage to seek help. You have already taken the first and most difficult step and I hope that I can help you continue in that journey to a more fulfilling life.
Joelle James, LMSW
A Licensed Social Worker with a quarter-century of Nonprofit Expertise in the Greater New York City Area.
I have experience working with adults, adolescents, members of the LGBTQIA+ communities, and descendants of the diaspora. I work to build a container of trust that is non-judgmental, safe, and empathetic; this allows my clients the space to divulge what is most important to them. Working together, we will cultivate an environment primed for curiosity and growth. Working with me will not consist of "blank stares and head-nodding" I ask thought-provoking questions, provide feedback and our sessions will feel like an ongoing conversation. If you want to take a deep dive into your past to make connections to who you are today, I 'm the therapist for you!
Through the use of individual, groups, or couples therapy, I provide an Integrative and Relational Psychodynamic approach to my client’s as they navigate life and the challenges we can all be presented with, focusing on the primary reason they have sought therapy. My approach will often utilize narrative, person-focused, family-systems, relational, and CBT as I find these models most effective in unpacking the complexities of human beings. I am committed to assisting my clients through learning and processing meaningful events that make up who they are. Every person comes to therapy for a unique reason; supporting them comprehensively and appropriately is tantamount to healing.
Kimberly K. Lindo, LMSW
Over time I’ve developed this mantra: “A great therapist will not give you the answers, but empower you to realize the answers existed within you the whole time.” As a licensed social worker, I have over 10 years experience working with individuals, families, and groups, and over 7 years of practice in multiple modalities. I specialize in solution-focused frameworks in my practice, such as in school settings, where urgent action is needed. I also have experience in mental health treatment centers, providing individualized care - therapy is not one-size-fits all. I will tailor our sessions to emphasize who you are, where you’ve been, and where you plan on going.
As a clinician, I am especially passionate about servicing Black women in my community, and put the ‘A’ in LGBTQA-affirming, nevertheless, I take pride in offering a non-judgmental, culturally safe space for clients of all backgrounds. Working with me, you can expect a balance of comfort, collaboration, and challenge - while receiving support, deepening your emotional capacity, and influencing positive change. Whatever your reason for entering therapy, I commend you for taking the step. You always dress for the job you want, so let’s get you dressed for the life you want!
